Ryan R. Williams, a drama school alum, always felt that there was a disconnect between what actual “A” list movie stars were doing on his set, and the type of instruction being offered at even the best acting schools.

As a director working in television and film, Ryan R. Williams found himself battling to overcome the shortcomings in actor training that were hindering the performances of his unknown players. It was out of this struggle that “The System™” was born.

Ryan R. Williams spent three years teaching a wildly popular underground acting class with alumni ranging from multiple Academy Award winners to once unknown beginners who learned “The System™” and are now series regulars on hit TV shows. But a secret this good, never stays that way for long.

Ryan R. Williams has now launched “The Screen Actors System,” an-ongoing, on-camera, acting class focused on cinematic scene study with monthly production dates that find the actors on location, shooting fully produced footage they can use on their own demo reels.

As a feature film director Ryan R. Williams won the prestigious 2013 Gold Remi Award for “Nowhere Fast“, (past winners of the Remi include Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, Ang Lee, Ridley Scott, The Coen Brothers, Brian De Palma and Oliver Stone). Williams made his feature directorial debut in 2003 with the multiple award-winning feature film “Abby Singer“, with appearances by Brad Pitt, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Jodie Foster.

Ryan then directed the comedy feature, “Chick Magnet“, (2011, featuring Owen Wilson, Tracy Morgan, Kristen Bell and Kevin Smith) that had prime time viewing on Showtime Network and huge grosses on Time Warner VOD and in foreign markets.

Ryan R. Williams has written, produced and directed national television commercials and music videos that have aired in over one hundred and fifty markets across the United States and Canada. He often shoots and edits his own projects, affording him a perspective on all aspects of production. He sold his first screenplay while still in drama school.

An Eagle Scout, Williams began his entertainment career as a regional radio personality. Prior to filmmaking he was a nationally touring stand up comic, headlining, and opening for such greats as Dave Attell, Carlos Mencia and Bobcat Goldthwait. He continues to find time to work as an actor in professional theatre and recently performed in a LORT theatre production of Hamlet.
